Sharon has been commissioned by the prestigious National Children Chorus to compose a new piece for this acclaimed choir’s Winter concert. In this piece, entitled “Children of Light”, Sharon not only composed the music, but also written the poem which the piece is set to.
Come hear the pristine voices of the National Children Chorus, telling a heartfelt story, and guiding their audience members on an extraordinary musical journey. Musical highlights will also include “Sleep”, by Eric Whitacre and “Snow Angel” by Sarah Quartel.
The West Coast premier of “Children of Light” will take place on December 8th at Royce Hall in Los Angeles, and the NCC’s 3rd major appearance at Lincoln Center will take place on December 16th. The NCC Scholars SATB ensemble will also sing “Frostiana," Randal Thompson’s classic setting of country poems by Robert Frost.
