Sharon is the First Prize Winner of the Cincinnati Camerata Composition Competition. Her winning piece, "The Third Mother/Mothers' Lament" is an A Cappella work, which honors the life of the late journalist, Daniel Pearl. The piece was originally premiered by the Los Angeles Master Chorale, under the direction of Maestro Grant Gershon. The work will be performed by the Cincinnati Camerata on May 5th, 2007. "The jury reviewed 41 works. After two rounds "The Third Mother/Mothers' Lament" stood out, and was the clear winner in the third. We especially liked the choral writing, the text and the timely topic. The language... and the fact that the Hebrew underlay is phonetic, and easily accessible to an American chorus... were other plusses"… Richard Arnet, Organizer and Facilitator of the Composition Competition.
